Our clinicians are all registered by the appropriate statutory governing bodies and as such adhere to a strict code of professional and ethical conduct. Pauline Newton
Director
Physiotherapist

Pauline set up the Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic at Lilleshall in 1987. Since that time Pauline has worked across many sports both in the UK & overseas. This has included acting as Physiotherapist to British Gymnastics, England Table Tennis & England Squash at World Championships & other major competitions. Pauline now works primarily with injured Professional Footballers at Lilleshall in addition to out patient work in the Physiotherapy & Sports Inury Clinic

Philip Newton
Director
Physiotherapist

Philip commenced his Physiotherapy career in the NHS initially in Liverpool & then in Teesside. After moving to Lilleshall in 1986 to join the Football Association as a staff Physiotherapist, Philip became head of the Lilleshall Sports Injury Rehab Centre in 1989. Philip has amassed a wealth of expertise in rehabilitating a wide range of sports injuries. The bulk of his work has been with contact sports such as football & rugby. Philip has also worked with the Lawn Tennis Association and with England Squash, providing physiotherapy cover at training camps and at numerous tournaments in the UK & abroad. This includes attending three Commonwealth games.

Nicola Long
Physiotherapist

Nicola qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1994 from the University of Birmingham. She has extensive Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine experience and has worked in both the NHS and private clinics. Nicola has specific expertise in dealing with back & neck problems and has worked as an Extended Scope Practitioner following injection therapy training. Nicola joined the Lilleshall team in 2006.

Rob Sharp
Physiotherapist

Rob trained at Keele University and qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000. He is also a BAWLA Weight Training Instructor and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Rob joined the Lilleshall Physiotherapy team in 2007 whilst working with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Rob now heads up the Medical Services at Crewe Alexandra FC. In In addition to his football expertise, Rob has amassed a broad range of Sports Medicine experience that includes event cover for the London Marathon and the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games. Rob's programme of professional development currently includes participation on the Masters in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham.

Nicola Tipton
Physiotherapist

Nicola is a graduate of Keele University. Nicola joined the Lilleshall team in 2006 after a five year period in the NHS, where she specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Nicola then went on to work for the English Institute of Sport with Archery GB and numerous other sports including gymnastics and track & field athletics. Nicola re-joined the Lilleshall Physio staff in 2009 where she currently works in the Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic.

Sue MacLauchlan
Physiotherapist

Sue qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1975 and has extensive experience in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy. Sue has worked in the NHS, the private sector and within the forces over the last 30 years and has additional qualifications in  acupuncture and several manipulative therapies which she blends in to her treatment of spinal and sporting conditions. Sue has over 13 years of experience here at Lilleshall and is a valued member of our team.

Joe Lewis
Sport Massage Therapist

Joe trained as a Sports Masseur in 1994. Since then he has worked in Private clinics and has provided sports massage services at several major athletic events both in the UK and abroad. Joe has been a competitive runner for many years, representing Birchfield Harriers and latterly winning a UK Masters 400m title and a European Championship gold in the 4 x 400 relay team. Joe is a UKA recognised coach for middle & long distance running. Since joining the Lilleshall team in 2008, Joe has worked with a wide array of clients including the British Gymnastic squads

Nick Tindall
Medical Officer

Nick has been worked in sports medicine at Lilleshall since 1984. Nick provided medical care for the FA National Football School for the 15 years of its existence that ended in 2000. Nick has also been the Medical Officer for the FA Rehab Centre and currently holds this post with the Lilleshall Sports Injury Rehab Centre. In addition to over two decades of experience with professional & elite football, Nick has provided medical services to the England Test & County Cricket Board and to British Gymnastics. Nick is a Clinical Educator for Bath University and for Keele University. Nick is a keen cyclist & has completed numerous long distance cycling challenges including the John O'Groats to Lands End ride and a trans Vietnam journey.

Wendy Hooper
Office Manager

Wendy has been responsible for the Lilleshall reception & administration duties since 2006. Wendy, arranges Rehab admissions and takes bookings for the Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic and is also responsible for collating quality assurance statistics. This helps ensure that the highest possible standards of care are maintained.
